HNA Networks received seed funds from Will County Farm Bureau and Will-South Cook Soil Water Conservation District (SWCD) to work with Will County board member Judy Ogalla to launch the Will County Agricultural Sustainability and Conservation Initiative.
Will CASCI’s founding partners—in addition to the local Farm Bureau and SWCD—are Iroquois Valley Farmland REIT, South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium, and three Will County community groups.
Will CASCI’s initial effort was to apply for a Rockefeller Foundation Food System Vision Prize 2050
The proposal introduced the strategy to build a cross-sector, metro Chicago coalition dedicated to the growth and development of a healthy, green, fair and affordable food and farm economy for the Lake Michigan Basin region.
Will CASCI was pleased to see Chicagoland represented among the 79 Prize semi-finalists.  The Chicago-based start up KitcheNet was selected for its founder Trista Li’s vision to create this “experience-oriented, data-driven subscription delivery model.”
Will CASCI was not selected as a semi-finalist, but the relevance of our vision is reflected in the following letters of support.
